Cave “Magura”
This cave is one the most famous and one of the longest cave in Bulgaria. It has many beautiful halls, some of which with colossal dimensions, which are carved in cave formations. One of the halls also has a pond. In the cave were found bones of cave bears and cave hyenas. On its walls may be seen drawings from several historical periods – late paleolith, neolith and bronze epoch. The cave is a must to see object and it is rated on 14th place in the national tour guide “100 national tourist objects”. The cave is located 18 km away from Belogradchik in the vicinity of “Rabishko” lake, with which is connected through underwater caves and tunnels. The cave is also famous with its healing qualities for several types of bronchial diseases, as asthma and allergies, due to the specific air content.
